In the past there was just BMX. That included Racing and Freestyle. Freestyle included Trails, Ramps, Street and Flatland, and you did it all on one bike. In 2010, BMX has gotten so specialized that there are strict trail riders, street riders, brakeless, ramp, park, vert and on and on. Flatland has gotten so specialised that virtually every part of your bike is specific to your genre of riding. That’s where flatware comes in. Odyssey has been supporting Flatland since it was just another thing you did on that one bike. Flatware is a way to make flatland specific parts, with the same quality and standards that go into every Odyssey part. While it’s still Odyssey. Flatware is our way of showing that we support what some say is the most difficult and technical thing you can do on a two wheeled bicycle.

Flatware revolves around two of the most well know and respected riders. If you ask any flatlander who they are inspired by. They will say Chase Gouin. Chase is to flatland what Matt Hoffman is to the X Games. It wouldn’t be the same without them.

Chase has his own specific signature parts. Although you can say that the entire flatware line is a signature line, because Chase and Terry Adams dictated what happen.

The Chase Gouin bar comes in two versions. There is a straight old school backsweep version, and a zero version also. The backsweep version gives you a true frontwards and backwards, which adds to the essence of bar flipping tricks. Zero backsweep has 3 degree’s upsweep. 7 5/8 inch rise and 25 inch width. The backsweep version has 6 degree’s backsweep and 6 degree’s upsweep. This creates an 8 inch rise and 26 inch width. All flatware bars are butted and use Odyssey’s long proven 41 Thermal process.
